HOME SWEET HOME

yesterday was the last day and it went really good

70 miles

70 miles until i could finally be around the place i love

i had a few supporters on the road

the Piens were waiting in patterson with a big GO CHRIS sign

and then i stopped at red rooster drank a milkshake then started riding again

when i got into familiar scenes i was so overwhelmed with happiness i smiled the rest of the way

i got to the bottom of the hill then my boy DAN was waiting with a big C painted on his chest

i was so happy to be home
but i still ride all the time

check out this article Chrissy wrote about me!

haulin' on home day 5 & 6

day 5 (yesterday, recovery)

i was still a little traumatized from the crash the day before... so i took it easy and a wise cyclist told me to do only 25-50 miles so thats exactly what i did... around 35 miles...

day 6 (gloomy lone wolf)

after a bad night of sleep due to a horrific thunderstorm the night before .. me being in a tent was not so sleep friendly
i got up tired as a bear in hibernation

i was out on the road riding alone with justin and mom stopping ahead every 2-3 miles
i got on my bike and the skies were so dark

i was feeling great averaging 18 mph the whole way
i got through 60 miles by eating , eating e gels, drinking e fuel and water, and commentating my own tour de france with team columbia domanating... pretending like i was my favorite and desire to meet BIG GEORGE HINCAPIE

when i had 14 miles to go i had to climb a wall for 10 miles and then decend 4 miles

i did 74 miles in 4 hours and it felt great!

haulin' on home DAY 4 (day at the hospital)

today we were riding to rochester from niagara falls... we were riding for only 2 miles when we came to some railroad tracks that were passing over diagonally and we went to cross them, my mom in front... me right behind

the first rail we got over fine and then i got this weird gut feeling and then the chills... then next thing i know my mom went down and my tire went into her and i flipped over my handle bars i got up right away and looked down at my mom and saw her laying down at the concrete and i got so scared that i let out a yelp and then a tear... i ran over to my bike and called my dad who was in the car a few miles up the road... they came back and got all of our road rash cleaned up... i seriously thought my mom was really injured for that slight second... i got back on the bike to see if i can continue the ride but i was in so much pain in my shoulder and up my leg that i just stopped

my mom hit her head and was feeling woozy so we went to the hospital

every thing is fine with both of us
jsut some bumps and bruises and i got an awesome lunch there

i hope to get up and ride tommorow

haulin' on home DAY 3

today we are going on number four, but since my lack of wi-fi... this post is for 2  days ago

it was a good day... we were feeling good (me and justin) i think what made it hard was we stopped when we didnt need to and that first stop was too long

but around fourty miles.... we got chased by a dog, leading justin in potholes, the dog was like rabid or somehting... then we were riding along when justin stopped yelping my name

'chris chris something is wrong oh dear awesome brother of mine" - his exact words

we looked at it and it turns out he popped a spoke and broke another one... so we were deciding whether to keep going with mom in justins place... but then it started to rain so we just packed up and finished the ride by car...

haulin' on home DAY 2

today we started the canada portion of the ride

lets say it was a false flat and it smelled bad

i pushed through the false flat and stopped at the bathroom and sprayed lavender air freshener on my gloves so i can smell that instead of smelling the gross cow manuer

i saw a fox and a blue heron and that means good luck

justin got some video and it was a good day

im ready for tommorow

Praying Mantis

Chris and I just before ride out.

Today was the start of my ride… we are still in Michigan so me and our good friend chris went to the Canadian border and back

Justin and mom followed us and got some good video footage for my dvd

There was a praying mantis on my handle bars and it stayed there for a good 10 minutes

I guess its good luck for the ride…

crazy weekend photos

crazy weekend #2

the next day we went to philidelphia because i was invited to watch the philadelphia circuit with ppl from right to play and team highroad
it was hotter than the day before... i feel so bad for the ppl who were actually racing they mustve been dieing (guys rode 156 and girls rode 57)
it was so fun because i got to ride in the team high rode crew car for a lap (14-15 miles) the driver tristian told me while crewing the women on the side of the road come first then the riders ;)

after two high road girls came in 1st and second the guys did pretty well too... we went out to the dinner with the team and they all found out about the ride and whatever

fun day in philidelphia

crazy weekend #1

on saturday me and my mom woke up at 545 to go ride at 6 15, not fun... we had to go to scranton PA for my cousins communion... we wanted to ride to the boarder and have pops meet us there. We go up through carmel to newburgh than west some more... I really liked crossing the newburgh beacon bridge cuz its such a nice view...
after newburgh was pretty much all out in the open (no shade) and in 96 degree heat (the morning was mugggy and cloudy but it opened up) and it was killer
we were passing through farm country and this dog runs out and chases mom and then jumps in front of me
he was chasing mom and the kids that ownded the dog were going get her get her

we saw a sign 15 miles to goshen and we decided we would just wait for dad in goshen due to threat of heat exaustion... all 15 miles were up hill or false flat (worst 15 miles of my life)
my dad picked us up and we got in the car and started to change and i hear my mom ask where r ur sneakers chris... omg i didnt pack any
we went to sneaker king and got me some sandals!!!!! WOOO WOOO (they were air jordans)

ridgefield and back

today we went to ridgefield for lunch, even though me and my mom were both sore from the hill 60 yesterday...

it wsasnt that bad, better than the projected 30-40 miles we were supposed to do today. there was a hill going to ridgefield that wasnt  that steep but WENT ON FOREVER...

now yesterday we went to ridgefield and i saw at least 10 porshes and today i saw at least another 7, i was liek geez how many of these will i see....

on the way we saw the glacial eratic, the one that my science teacher made all of her earthe cience kids students take pictures in front of, (im not in E.S.) i was like ma, were stoppin on the way back so i can take a picture in front of it...

it was a pretty nice ride even tho my legs feel so dead now

historic ride

today me and my mom went on a 60 mile ride back to 230 years in the past.... we rode with the westport historical society on the british march ride, where the british marched in the revolution.... it was pretty fun, hurt, but fun. The main pack who prolly didnt no any histry broke away and we just sat back and enjoyed the lesson...

i learned that many old towns are compeletly under the resovoirs, they flooded them togive nyc water supply...
i saw 4 turtles on a piece of plywood in the middle of the  resovoir, it was cool...

i had a wicked muscle spasm so i needed to drink more water,

when we pased a church they had a flag garden, one flag for each us soldier lost in afghanistan and iraq, he is a picture

hills galore

today me and my mom went to new paltz to ride with a friend from skating, and man the hills were HUGE

things i saw
weird ttree root sculptures
an amazing view at the top of the mountain

things i noticed

When we were going down this huge s curves hill, i would hold the breaks so i am going about 20 mph on the curves and let go on the straights, its like bottling up all the energy when u hit the brakes, then when u let go u release it all

my speedometer went from 20 mph to 33 mph in about 5 seconds

Sorry, here is more posts

Sorry everyone for not blogging,
i keep forgetting to
heres some cool things that ive experianced while riding the last few rides
me and my mom saw 2 herons in the same day
we saved a turtle who was walking in the middle of the path
we were riding up a huge hill and we were riding slow behind some horses, (and carrages) but we didnt want to startle the horse by passin, but the lady said we could so we sprint ahead and then the horse started sprinting, it was like a race

Today we did an easy ride because i have a track meet tommorow, so we went up the path, when we started my mom was liek oh i grabbed two right gloves, ill turn one inside out
about 4 miles later shes like wait i have a pair, they are just inside out
^
pretty dumb move

we were riding along and we saw a random flock (im not sure if thats what u would call it) of duck coming out onto the path, so i quacked at them

it was a good ride

passover ride to the bronx!

today i went from yorktown to the bronx to my grammas house. It was a 45 mile ride all on the bike path. It was very relaxed until the path ended and we kind of got losted a little. It was passover so we needed to go there for dinner and meet our family. I fell twice on the ride due to the stupidness of my peddles. i fell at two different stop signs where i couldnt clip out and just plopped over. Me and my mom made a simile to a song on our ride.

we went over a river
and through the woods
to grammas house we go

it tookclose to 3 hours, it was rlly fun!
